Airbrushing Blackstone Fortress Terrain Part 8

Gold Sharpie FTW!

I was dreading this one. I've gotten so used to airbrushing that I don't really ever want to touch another paintbrush ever again! So with that in mind, I'm using Carl Tuttle's (from the Independent Characters) gold Sharpie trim. It worked fairly well, then I stuck some Nuln Oil around the edges.

Airbrushing Blackstone Fortress Terrain Part 7

Well, it's been a long while since I've had time to paint. As a teacher, this is a hellish season! I decided that since my wife went to bed early on a Friday night, this would be a great night to paint.

I was still not happy with the previous entry that I've posted twice (man, the amount of matte varnish on those tiles!). I was listening to an interview with Caleb from CK Studios about his Night Lord's army that he did for the NOVA Open Charity Raffle. He was focusing on lightning and I felt that my lightning was missing something. Turns out, it was just a simple white line! I used Daler Rowney White for this. I probably didn't give it as much care and attention as he did, but this is just terrain and I'm hoping to be done it soon!

Here are the final results for real:

Then I managed to do two simple tilesets in 90 minutes or so. I enjoyed doing the blood on the floor. I kept the one with the pillars more simple just so not all the tiles are overwhelming with colour.

I'm not sure when I'll do my next painting (maybe it'll be a Friday thing?), but at the moment I have 0 subscribers and this is more of a reflection/posterity piece I guess!
