It's funny how much time it can take to put into 6 models! I only got the skin done tonight, but it took about 2 hours.
I did do two heavy washes in between the lighter shades to tone it down. I think they turned out quite alright!

Well, I've been meaning to start on my Blitz/Blood Bowl armies for some time now. I got the Blitz Bowl set last summer and it's taken this long to get to it. It's only 6 models per side right?
Since I'm such a huge NFL fan, I've been wanting to connect my teams with the colour schemes of actual NFL teams and match the flavour for each team.
Of the teams I got:
Human team 1: Philadelphia Eagles
Human team 2: Atlanta Falcons (I have 2 human teams)
Elves: Seattle Seahawks (my favourite team!)
Dwarves: Minnesota Vikings
Skaven: Jacksonville Jaguars
Undead: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Orcs: Las Vegas Raiders
I've been working up to getting my black airbrush recipe tight, as I have Deathwatch and Ulthwé Eldar coming down the pike, so since I'm going Raiders, I have to get this perfected!
I think I did?!
1. Prime black
2. Vallejo Model Air Anthracite Grey all over
3. Mix (roughly half and half) of Daler Rowney Payne's Grey and Anthracite Grey - spray just the shadows
4. Vallejo Model Air Sea Grey - just the highlight areas
5. Vallejo Game Air Cold Grey - narrower highlighting
6. Vallejo Game Air Stonewall Grey - even narrower
7. I take a little mixing cup and I cover the bottom of it with Citadel Contrast Black Templar and then really really water it down with water. I filled my Patriot cup twice for these 6 models. I use a hairdryer in between each coat.
The Colour Team!
Managed to find some time to finish this bad boy off!
I'm super happy how it turned out. I just have to matte spray it, as the Vallejo black is really shiny.
Just in time, as the campaign starts in less than a week!
I wasn't that happy with the other model, so I ordered one from a site called Hero Forge. Lots of customisation and then they 3D print it on a resin printer. This one was more of my vision for a gnome monk.
It was hard to pick a paint scheme... tempted to go with the Shaolin monk orange, thought about like a hermit desert scheme, but picked a blue in the end. I think I'll have some whites to go with it and some dark greys as belts and gloves.
I wasn't going to airbrush this, but my Krome was so so good. Love that brush. I decided to really do the CK method and trust the process through the 'ugly phase' and it totally panned out. I'm really happy with the tones, shades, highlights, etc. I don't usually take too many in-process pics, but I did today. I can't wait to finish it and I think we start the campaign next week!
