I finally got around to re-doing my Crimson Fist army. I sold off the entire lot a year or two ago, but rebought into it but just the Primaris Marines stuff. I'm just doing Kill Teams right now for 40k.

I cannot believe that this board game is finished! I have so many projects I want to work on and it felt like it took forever!
I do have to say that I definitely saved the best for last... and I'm talking about Knuckle. He was definitely my fave.
The last two... I can't wait to be done with these models! I fully airbrushed Knuckle for this and with a bit more colour and some touch-ups, I think he'll look sweet.
I was going to airbrush this one, but again, I felt that zenithal prime I did with the airbrush was to my advantage. I took some airbrush grey and blue and brushed it on (watered down). I had hoped that it would be transparent enough, but as I was doing the wash on the dress, I really liked the look of a heavy brush of nuln oil on the dress that I just doused the whole thing. For the skin, I did 2:3 ratio of nuln oil to drakenhof nightshade and I think it was the perfect shade for the skin. This one will be easy to finish!
I can't wait to finish up this game - I want to move onto other projects but the look on my daughter's face when I finish every model is worth it.
Well, this one is done and in the bag. Wasn't my favourite but not too bad. I don't really have anything profound to say about this one!
This one might be easy as I used a zenithal prime and since he has a white coat, I think I can get away with just keeping it mostly as is. I don't think I like the orange and green together but that's what the card appears to have. Go Gators I guess?
Well, they're done! I enjoyed painting these last two heroes.

I really think Lionel turned out really well... the other two... so-so.
They'll look great on the table though.
Looking at these models, I should be able to knock them out super quick and I've been procrastinating that, so work on these 3 I did! My daughter will be so happy!

Not much to say except the model I've been procrastinating on is complete!
In my first ever D&D campaign, our DM threatened that our characters might not survive the campaign and that we should have a re-roll character ready. I was kind of bummed about that, but looked at some models at a games store. I fell in love with a race called goliath and I took a fighter model intending it to become a barbarian.
I found an orc fantasy axe and swapped it out for his knife. I want my guy to be dual-wielding axes. I also put on some Chaos and Space Wolf bits as well.
I had a few genestealers and termagaunts in a lot I bought used. I told my 5-year-old that she could have them. Secretly, I wanted them for a basic kill team.
Anyway, I convinced her to help me airbrush. Originally, I wanted to have an orange/blue scheme, but she saw some pics of Hivefleet Kraken and that's the route she wanted to go.
Some in progress pics... I don't expect to finish these for a long time though.

This is one of the main characters, Lumpy, after washes. I tried painting a grey filter over the zenithal highlights I did with the airbrush, but I think I washed it all out. A learning experience I guess...
Well, just a bit of aluminium-coloured highlights on the top edges and then worked on the eyes.
My daughter and I have been playing this game and the mongrels kinda of scare her. She wanted more cool colours instead of red, but she did want one to be red.
I really enjoyed these guys - probably my favourite to paint so far. Now, we're onto the heroes and then the bosses.
I really enjoyed painting these - I used Vallejo metallics through the airbrush and that saved me oodles of time. I'm not sure if my shading and highlighting worked as well as I had hoped though.
The washes are all done... just some airbrush of the eyes' glowing and base to go. I didn't feel like cleaning up the airbrush again so I called it a night.
I forgot to post the finished result. I'm the least happy with these minions for the game thus far, but was a good learning experience on what not to do next time.
I don't know... pretty easy. I tried my hand at wet-blending a bit around the face. Tried to blend a grey-blue into the dark teal.

I've been going at these guys for a couple of days. It was really in the ugly phase for a white... if you understand what I mean. I guess it all came together. I'm not too happy with the bases... the problem in the game is that the location changes so much that there really isn't a base scheme that would fit (from carpet to a junkyard to a town, etc.). I'll go with just black for now until later in the game I notice something that captures it perfectly.
My daughter and I have started playing a game called Stuffed Fables from Plaid Hat Games. It's an okay game... it's cute. I started priming up the models to paint tonight. They seem quite simple so hopefully they go quick.
And.... we're done (well, pretty much). I got the basing done tonight except for painting some white lines on the turf and did the transfers. It sucks that the core box doesn't come with transfers... they're in the pics on the box... I have been using the dwarf ones.
I probably won't post a pic with the lines done, so I'll leave the evidence off here.
I just got all the highlighting done. I actually like highlighting the white this go around. Since I used a zenithal prime up, when I painted a really thinned down base colour in all the colours, it auto-highlighted for the most part so that saved a lot of time. Only one helmet had to be redone better.
I just have to do the transfers and basing and we're done!

Haven't been motivated in the evenings. During the day, yes, but not a reality to paint during those times.
